What Is MCP?
MCP (Model Context Protocol) is how external AI assistants connect to Noematic. Think of it as a secure bridge between your AI and your business data.
Why Use MCP?
While Noematic has a built-in chat, you might prefer using Claude Desktop, ChatGPT, or a custom AI agent. MCP lets any compatible AI assistant manage your business through Noematic.
Setting Up MCP from the Dashboard
Go to Settings → MCP Connection
Copy the MCP URL, Client ID, and Secret
Paste them into your AI client
Click Test Connection to verify
Important: You must complete the initial setup wizard before MCP connection is available.
How to Connect Claude Desktop
- Copy your MCP URL, Client ID, and Secret from the dashboard.
- In Claude Desktop, go to Settings → MCP Servers → Add Server.
- Paste the URL and credentials.
- Claude can now manage your business through Noematic.

Security
- Each connection is scoped to your account only
- Your AI can only access your data
- You can rotate your token anytime from the MCP Connection page
- Human-in-the-loop approvals can be required for sensitive actions
