What Is MCP?

MCP (Model Context Protocol) is how external AI assistants connect to Noematic. Think of it as a secure bridge between your AI and your business data.

Why Use MCP?

While Noematic has a built-in chat, you might prefer using Claude Desktop, ChatGPT, or a custom AI agent. MCP lets any compatible AI assistant manage your business through Noematic.

Setting Up MCP from the Dashboard

Go to Settings → MCP Connection

Copy the MCP URL, Client ID, and Secret

Paste them into your AI client

Click Test Connection to verify

Important: You must complete the initial setup wizard before MCP connection is available.

How to Connect Claude Desktop

  1. Copy your MCP URL, Client ID, and Secret from the dashboard.
  2. In Claude Desktop, go to Settings → MCP Servers → Add Server.
  3. Paste the URL and credentials.
  4. Claude can now manage your business through Noematic.

Security
